Ryder - a fashion icon for our time!

Look at me in my new fancy sweater! I'm working it . . . I'm working it! I'm ready to hit the runways in New York, Milan, and Paris! Look out fashion week, here I come!! You know, I thought I was handsome before, but I'm really a force to be reckoned with now that I've got my very own sweater!! I got lucky too . . . mine has a scarf!! That will be nice when it's windy outside. Thanks to my good friend Jenn from Massachussetts, every one of the rescues got a new sweater this winter. I'm glad Jenn was in charge of sweaters - she's probably an expert on cold weather since she lives up north!! Way to go Jenn! We're sending you big Texas-sized hugs to let you know we love you and to help keep you warm this winter. Thanks again!!

A Few Words From Ryder . . .

I am a very handsome boy and I'm very smart too! I love to play outside and will go to great lengths to stay out as long as possible. I just love the smell of green grass and flowers, the feeling of warmth from the bright sun overhead, and the delightful sounds of birds, bugs, and squirrels all around me. It doesn't matter that I can't see these things, because I experience them with my other senses. I'm the perfect age and I'm very sociable. I love to be around people - hanging out, going for long walks, snuggling, playing, just sitting quietly and enjoying each other's company. As long as people are around I'm a happy boy. In spite of all the cruelty and the hardships I have faced in the past, I still believe that I'm very lucky. I was rescued by some very nice people and now I have a safe place to live and I get lots of love and good food. Life has not always been kind to me, but I always greet each new day with a smile. I know that my forever family is out there somewhere and I'm going to have a big smile ready for them when they find me.

My Promise to You

Admit it. You can't look at me without smiling. You might not want to smile, but you just can't help yourself. I bring out the best in you. When you're with me, you will always know that you're perfect just the way you are. You can be as silly as you want to be and I will never judge you. You can dress me up in funny outfits and I won't complain. As long as I'm here, you will always have a friend. I will remain true to you all the days of my life. I will love you no matter what. That is my promise to you.

We’re having another exciting raffle! All proceeds from this raffle will benefit BTRGH and will help us pay our medical bills for 2008. As you probably already know, we do not refuse any dog, regardless of his or her background or medical condition. Because of our efforts to save Rowdy’s life, our bill already totals $13,000. Rowdy came into rescue with very severe heartworm disease and he had to undergo emergency surgery to remove the heartworms through his jugular vein. He survived this delicate and intense procedure, but he passed away several days later. Even though we couldn't save Rowdy, your generous support will ensure that we have the necessary resources to save other Boston Terriers in need.
